In the most recent episode of "Family Guy", Peter says that "Sean Connery is just so..." and then he stops before he finishes.
How was he going to insult Sean Connery?

Probably because the character of Sean Connery with his distinctive Scottish accent was more recently seen in the media and identifiable to the audience and thus easier to suddenly place in the scene to complete the joke.
.
90 year old John Forsythe who has not been seen lately and not as easily identifiable and was was last seen in TV in 93. He was in near 80 at that time and considered to be still handsome like Cary Grant even into their old age. John Forsythe was a fantasy date mentioned more than once in "The Golden Girls" so is kind of known as an older persons secret crush.

My personal favorite of those mentioned was Charlton Heston... he was one of the greatest actors ever... John Wayne is a close second ! I always loved Sean Connery as Bond !
