The greatest comedians like Lucille Ball, Red Skelton, Johnathan Winters and the Three Stooges did not have to be vulgar and they had real talent. What do you think?

Not sure if they think they are funny or not . But they do think they are "cutting edge" and "pushing the envelope"... they also come across as thinking they are better and smarter than "us" (the audience).

It's quite annoying... can't wait for many of them to go away.

Talentless hacks.

You're comparing apples to oranges. I love the Three Stooges, and while it's a bit 'sitcomish' for my tastes, Lucille Ball had her moments as well. Personally, though, I find comedians who push the envelope a bit better. The stand up comic evolved from the Jester's of royal times. These comics were able to tall the truth in joke form, even pointing out the faults of kings. It was used fantastically in Shakespeare's stories.

Now a days, we don't have kings to make fun of, but comedians still push the envelope. The real greats, the ones that stand beyond simply making a quick laugh on dropping a Fbomb, are more then what you probably saw.

I recommend looking up Mitch Hedburg and Bill Hicks. Two of my favorites, both dead. Bill was much more political (he was big during Bush, Sr term, and for the past 8 years his jokes about the first war in Iraq still held true) and Mitch had a very off the wall, dry humor.
