What is your opinion about the new Simpsons episodes?

I am a loyal Simpsons fan and that love this show so much and it really saddens me to see so many people starting to hate it.
Yes,I hate to admit it,but it is starting to decline in quality.
Here are the things that I dislike about the newer episodes:
1.Homer use to be just misinformed and a little slow, but now he is just too stupid its not really funny anymore
2.Some episodes were really unnecesary(Skinner not really being Skinner, death of Maude Flanders...)
3.Time inconsistency(That 90s show makes no scence,Bart was born in 1987 and Homer and Marge were teens in the 70s,boy I need a life xD )
4.Simpsons trying to be "hip" by using Internet,cellphones,Ipods..(I liked them more when they were old fashioned)
5.They are getting a little mean spirited-I feel so sorry for good old Ned Flanders,he lost his wife and Homer is becoming sadisticly cruel to him(dreaming of him dying in a burning house sheesh)
Also Moe Syzlak use to be a great character, but now he is just so lonely and pathetic that it makes me feel so sad and so annoyed at the same time
6.Some characters arent getting enough screen time(what happened to Troy Mcclure? :( )

Woah,that was pretty long.
Anyway, whats YOUR opinion on the show?
Do you still like it,if you ever liked it?
Do you like the new episodes?
If not,do you think the Simpsons will become good again?

Share your toughts :)

I will say that "The Simpsons" have not been good since the end of the 10th season. That means that it has stunk for a good 8-10 years, in my opinion. Now, I'll answer your questions one at a time:

1. It would appear that they are trying to make Homer go the Peter Griffin route. Peter is borderline mentally challenged, and perhaps making Homer stupider equals more funny stuff.

2. Many of the new episodes are unnecessary, which is why I think the show should come to an end. Skinner not being Skinner was so bad that Matt Groening did not want his name attached to the episode. Maude Flanders died because the woman who voiced her didn't want to do it anymore, and I guess they couldn't find a replacement, so they just killed her off.

3. I don't know what to say about time inconsistency except that you are very astute in noticing that there is, in fact, an inconsistency.

4. The Simpsons being hip is just a reflection of current culture. If they still used stuff that was popular in the '90s, people would complain that The Simpsons isn't up to date and the writers are lazy. Most of the new storylines reflect stuff that has happened in popular culture, whether in politics or in movies.

5. Mean-spirited? Not really. Yes, Homer picturing Ned in a burning building was cruel. The most cruel was when Ned offered to buy The Simpsons' house so it wouldn't be foreclosed. Homer still treated him like garbage for most of the episode. Now, THAT was uncalled for. And I feel sorry for Moe, I really do. He has nobody and that's not funny; it's sad and pathetic.

6. Troy McClure was voiced by Phil Hartman. Hartman was murdered by his wife. Therefore, no more Troy McClure, Lionel Hutz, Lyle Lanley, etc. All of them were voiced by Hartman. However, they should bring back some of the popular characters from earlier in the series....characters such as Hank Scorpio.

I like some of the episodes but there are a number of tiring and boring ones in between the ones I like. I liked Treehouse of Horror XVIII. Since season 20, they have been rubbish and since I loved Edna Krabappel, they will continue to be bad in my opinion
