I just saw the family guy episode. Fair enough.

However, consider the following. First, here is an article:

http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/10/29/family-guy-maya-rudolph-glenn-howerton/

Quote from the article:

"Family Guy has recruited two familiar TV voices for an upcoming episode, and those voices belong to Maya Rudolph and Glenn Howerton. Rudolph, a veteran of SNL and Up All Night, will assume the role of an avid runner who catches Brian’s eye. To win her over, he pretends to be a fellow jogger. “After Brian experiences the ‘runner’s high’, he becomes a distance running douche, and even signs himself up to run a marathon,” Family Guy executive producer Steve Callaghan tells EW."

This episode has not yet been aired yet includes Brian in the plot... How is this possible if Brian is really gone for good?

Further more, check out this link:

http://familyguy.wikia.com/wiki/Episode_Guide#Season_12:_2013-2014

Go down to season 12 episodes and two upcoming episodes, "Brian's a Bad Father" and "Brian the Closer" both include Brian's name in the title.

Also note that the promo poster for "Grimm Job", another later episode, includes Brian in the background.

I don't think Brian Griffin is really gone. The writers are just screwing with our emotions.

From several people, I've heard that the show is becoming sucky. I wouldn't know because I lost cable over a year ago. This is just a theory about maybe not a populous opinion but, maybe the producers realize that people are not as amused with the show as they were half a decade ago, when I had cable and was still thrilled by the comedy. But I've heard several people of different age groups say that it's dulling away. It's getting corny or whatever. Maybe they're beginning a slow gradual conclusions due to similar criticisms. But who knows? Not me.

here's a few reasons why Brian isn't dead.

1.) hes scripted in multiple episodes featured in the rest of this season as well as being included in the summaries and episode titles.

2.) he's featured in the 13th season episode "simpsons guy"

3.) the show was losing ratings, and fast, killing him off was just a way of drawing more attention to show to boost there fan ratings way back up.

4.) the episodes prior to this on in the season were average at best to kill attention and make people think maybe time is up for family guy, only to top off the doubt by killing Brian forcing some to really hate the show now but at the same time be drawn to it, boosting ratings.

5.) Actor Tony Sirico is only listed as a "guest star" in family guy and is far to expensive to keep full time.

and reason 6 the most important

6.) over the summer upon announcing the death of one of the griffins it was revealed that the death would be based of Grimms fairytales if you look at season 12 episode 9 it is titled "Grimm Job". see the connection yet? for those of you still lost according to Grimms fairytales Brian will return and "duel" with Vinnie to become king of the castle once again hence the episode labeled "Brian and Vinnie play ball" which was recently relabeled "Grimm Job" if your still lost their not exactly "playing ball" if you dont believe it look it up.

No! How can anyone think that losing a family member in the show is more tragic than losing a family pet?! No! Unacceptable! Brian and Stewie are what made the show funny! Here's the question: If you were watching a horror movie, and it came down to a dog and person, who would you want to die? The dog or person, I'd pick the dog because dogs have unconditional love unlike a human, it's like were all ok with the human dying, but the dog? Really? No. This is bullshit.

Don't worry, he'll be back

Yeah - I believe this.

Why? Because everything in Family Guy is a Joke. So the idea that they would just randomly kill off one of their main characters and replace him with something else, is frankly disturbing. Let's face it - Family Guy is a Cartoon Show about Jokes; that's it. There's no character building, no emotional growth, and most importantly - no story arch.

Plus - they've killed off many of other characters and yet they've always come back - Meg, Stewie, Cleveland, etc. The point is - this show does in fact kill people off for the sake of being funny (and fails at trying to be edgy). So bottom line - I don't think Brian is dead. I'm confident that he'll be back before we know it.

Not gonna lie. When Brian died I cried..the show wouldn't be the same. And reading all these answers above me, I'm getting more and more hope that he'll be back. If Seth wants the show to continue, he's gonna have to bring him back. Otherwise, the show would be cancelled very soon. And plus, Brian is still in the opening theme song to the show. I have a feeling he'll be back :)

Someone on Facebook said: "In this episode, Stewie admits that he doesn't like waiting for his xmas presents so he uses the time machine to go into the future so he doesn't have to wait til the holiday.

They destroy this time machine and cannot get the parts to fix it, but if Stewie waits until Xmas, he can bump into his "future-self" and use his time machine to go back in time and save Brian."

This theory makes the most sense because why else would the writers show Stewie getting a Christmas present? Why would they show Stewie using the time machine one last time to go to the future? They made Stewie go to the future before he destroyed his machine because that's a way to get Brian back!

They could be switching Brian out with Vinnie in upcoming plots. In any case, I expect it to be permanent. Family Guy does have some form of continuity.

do people really think he's gone for good? Are you guys really that dumb?

It's obviously just a publicity move to scrounge up more views, and

deliberately cause a ruckus online.

Guarantee this is going to be the beginning

of some multi-week story arc in which brian comes back at the end.

I think when the time comes bringing brian's death will be a giant middle finger to the world and will be a christmas present to bring him back. Hence be the christmas episode with stewie

Is it possible that future episodes with Brian are simply flashbacks? Maybe the Griffins are remembering him or telling their new dog Vinny about him?

No there is a hole growing bigger and bigger in stewies room. every episode it gets bigger. vinny explains he is brian from a different universe. in reality he is a drug distributor. he is trying to blackmail the real alternate universe brian and the drug dealers attack him. louis, peter, and stewie try to intervene meanwhile meg and chris are trying to close the rift and only one man can help. guest starring matt smith and aaron paul

Yup, he'll be back. Upcoming episodes are already known to include him, which makes you wonder why the writers decided to "kill" him with those episodes already being known.
